The British Polio Fellowship (BPF) is a national charity for people in the UK with polio and post-polio syndrome, providing service to 46 branches. It provides information, advocacy, welfare and support to enable people to live full independent and integrated lives.
The well-documented section, Polio, A Living History, contains personal stories, videos, audio interviews, photos, family diaries and historical picture galleries. There are Useful Publications on pacing, cold intolerance, disability living allowance, complimentary therapies, orthotic services, dental care, and palliative care.
Links to other resources under Useful Organizations disseminates information on a host of useful and practical interest to people in the UK with post- polio syndrome, their families and health care professionals. Information on Welfare Rights, Legal Benefits , Employment, Leisure Interests, Transportation, Mobility and Equipment, Aid Grants and Clinical Research are also highlighted. An online forum provides a virtual network to enable members to communicate with each other via the internet.
